Jennifer Smith is a Registered Provisional Psychologist. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies. She has a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Jennifer works with all ages and has extensive experience with children and adolescents teaching and supporting them in the community and in a variety of school settings.
Jennifer gained understanding and respect for young people as she helped to guide them through academic, social, behavioural, and personal challenges. Jennifer has also traveled numerous times throughout the world, giving her unique insights into diverse cultures and ways of life.
Jennifer utilizes a humanistic and client-centered approach in her counselling. She employs Solution-Focused and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapeutic techniques, as well as Mindfulness activities. With younger clients, Jennifer uses Child-centered Play Therapy and Art activities. She works with clients of all ages who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, addiction, and relationship difficulties. Jennifer is also trained in provision of Psychoeducational Assessments for children and teens.
Jennifer believes that her role as therapist is to provide a safe, supportive environment where clients can discover their own strengths and inner resources to help them on their personal journey.
When time allows, Jennifer loves traveling and exploring new places. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.
